Job Description:

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) is seeking a Part-Time Professional Staff Nurse to join its Float Pool. This role offers a unique opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic healthcare environment.

About the Role:

This position involves providing patient care services as part of the Float Pool team. As a Professional Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for managing and providing high-quality patient care activities for a group of patients and their families. You will work collaboratively with physicians, other healthcare providers, and support staff to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes that enhance patient satisfaction and clinical care.
  • Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment for patients and their families.
  • Formulate daily goals and plans of care that involve the patient as a partner and consider individual needs in a holistic manner.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to patients and colleagues.
  • Support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues through precepting and mentorship.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required, and zero to two years of experience in a similar setting is preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are also necessary.

Salary Range: $63,484 - $83,832 per year

Licensure/Clearances:

You must be currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state where the facility is located or hold a compact license with the state where the facility is located. Additionally, you'll need Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearance.
