The Learning Management System (LMS) Integration and Training Specialist plays a crucial role within the Center for Instructional Technology, providing essential support and training for online learning initiatives. This position is responsible for assisting in the administration and integration of the campus LMS, ensuring that faculty and students have the necessary tools and resources for effective learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the administration of the campus learning management system, including programming and technical management.
- Facilitate backend integrations to streamline administrative processes and enhance user experience.
- Provide training and support for faculty and staff in utilizing LMS software and best practices for course content creation.
- Coordinate video streaming services, including scheduling and training for students.
- Collaborate with service owners to ensure seamless integration of external systems with the LMS.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies to enhance online learning capabilities.
- Supervise student interns and staff on specific projects to support the goals of the Center for Instructional Technology.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in LMS administration, particularly with platforms such as Blackboard Learn or D2L Brightspace.
- Proficiency in multimedia software, video streaming, and web development tools.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Adaptability to evolving technologies and online learning environments.
Preferred:
- Experience with assistive technologies and knowledge of accessibility standards.
- Background in higher education, particularly in course development and faculty support.
- Familiarity with captioning and streaming services.
