The role of the Instrumentation and Controls Maintenance Technician is pivotal in ensuring the operational efficiency of our production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate a competitive starting pay rate of $37.12 per hour.

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to enhance the reliability and performance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.

Core Duties Include:

  • Develop and interpret control and wiring diagrams while troubleshooting equipment.
  • Apply relevant electrical standards and regulatory codes.
  • Enhance preventive maintenance protocols and troubleshooting documentation for various systems.
  • Conduct training sessions on electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Oversee the plant's instrumentation, controls, and calibration processes.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with production teams, maintenance staff, and management to optimize the electrical systems and controls:

  • Provide technical assistance and training for plant electrical and electronic systems.
  • Develop and refine software applications.
  • Assess and recommend reliable electrical and electronic components.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to maintain updated equipment documentation.
  • Ensure an organized library of all PLC programs.
  • Manage data systems, including servers and HMIs.
  • Support the creation of component lists for maintenance kits and assemblies.
  • Propose and implement continuous improvements in equipment and system designs.

Work Planning and Scheduling:

Coordinate with maintenance and production management to effectively plan and schedule tasks:

  • Conduct site visits to assess job requirements.
  • Prepare Bills of Material (B.O.M.) for projects.
  • Facilitate part requests from maintenance personnel.
  • Organize labor resources for job execution.
  • Analyze performance metrics for ongoing improvement.

Installation and Calibration:

Lead the installation of electrical systems:

  • Prepare electrical/control schematics and documentation for new installations.
  • Maintain accurate 'as built' schematics in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Recommend electrical systems and materials for new projects.

Calibration Program Leadership:

  • Work with quality and maintenance teams to ensure regular calibration of critical instrumentation.
  • Document all calibration activities and maintain the master calibration list.
  • Collaborate with engineering to document changes in control devices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to perform job duties safely and efficiently.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and adhere to safe lifting practices.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
