Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Cleveland Clinic's Avon Hospital. As a key member of our operating room team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
  • Manage case cart inventory and ensure proper handling of equipment, instrumentation, and chemicals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process.
  • Scan, sort, inspect, and assemble instruments by instrument list and wrap and label as documented in the procedure.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform quality control checks.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain a sterile processing distribution certification (CRST) within 2 years following the completion of the new hire period.
  • Preferred qualifications include one year of healthcare experience or a similar background in mechanical/manufacturing assembly.
Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate will be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds and push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing over 75 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment

The successful candidate will follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
