We are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in building systems design, particularly in multifamily residential, mixed-use high-rise, hospitality, and commercial sectors. This role involves a combination of technical and managerial responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of projects from inception to completion across various phases, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, schematic design, construction documentation, and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage small to medium-sized HVAC projects, driving the implementation of mechanical engineering initiatives.
- Assist in the creation and enforcement of mechanical engineering design standards, policies, and procedures.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal and external teams.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate and oversee project meetings, ensuring effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure compliance with established timelines.
- Conduct site inspections, documenting conditions, performing tests, and ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with clients and contractors, providing updates and addressing any issues that arise.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Technical Skills:
- Utilize technical expertise to support engineering design processes, including calculations and CAD drawings.
- Conduct inspections and testing to identify and resolve issues.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
Client Engagement:
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to convey technical information to clients and stakeholders.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members to understand project scope, budget, and deliverables.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on technical matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of five years of experience in MEP consulting and design engineering.
- Professional Engineer license is required.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Capability to work in various outdoor conditions.
