About the Job

Ryder is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team in Fort Myers, Florida. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our truck fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and diagnostics and repairs.
  • Conduct advanced skilled level repairs, including major engine repairs, diesel after treatment, and automotive fuel injection repairs.
  • Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates.
  • Coordinate work schedules and ensure quality of repair work performed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including lube techniques, tire inspections, brake checks, and battery checks.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all service, safety, and environmental records.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical Certification or Post Secondary degree preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
  • NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred.
  • Other State driver's license as required.
  • Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
  • Able to take home assigned mobile service truck and secure vehicle and contents.
  • Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles.
