Key Responsibilities
  • **Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):** Wear PPE while operating all equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • **Attendance and Punctuality:** Report to work on time each day and be prepared to work at the start of each shift.
  • **Safety Reporting:** Report any unsafe work practices or conditions to your supervisor.
  • **Quality Control:** Ensure all standards are met and exceed customer requirements.
  • **Setup and Operation:** Set up and operate slitting machines to cut rolls into slit rolls of specified widths.
  • **Inspection and Maintenance:** Inspect, clean, and install spacers on shafts, and sharpen blades with a grinder to remove nicks.
  • **Quality Assurance:** Examine cut rolls for flatness, gaps, burrs on edges, and surface defects.
  • **Material Handling:** Tend machines that wind tape from one roll to another to form compact rolls of specified footage.
  • **Verification:** Verify perforations, size, and alignment of rewind rolls.
  • **Troubleshooting:** Adjust machines using hand tools to resolve any issues.
  • **Material Removal:** Remove wound rolls from shafts and place them in baskets or skids.
  • **Defect Repair:** May need to cut defects from paper and splice cut ends together using tape.
  • **Assistance:** Assist in material handling when needed.
Requirements
  • **Education:** Able to read and write in the English language.
  • **Literacy:** Able to read tape measures.
  • **Operational Skills:** Able to drive a fork truck.
  • **Physical Demands:** Lifting more than 70lbs regularly.
  • **Physical Abilities:** Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • **Environmental Tolerance:** Tolerant of temperature fluctuations from cold to hot depending on seasons.
