Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in lactation and breastfeeding support to join our Maternity Care team at Community Health Network.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and a passion for supporting new mothers and their babies in their breastfeeding journey.

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, including every third weekend rotation.

As a Lactation Consultant RN, you will work closely with our healthcare team to provide education, assistance, and support to women and children in our Maternity Services department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide lactation consultation and support to new mothers and their babies
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement breastfeeding plans
  • Conduct assessments and provide education on breastfeeding techniques and management
  • Support and educate families on the importance of breastfeeding and its benefits

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited school of nursing
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana
  • Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) within 1 year of hire
  • 1 year of RN experience and 1 year of lactation consultation experience in a hospital setting preferred
