About The Job

We are seeking a Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer to support a phase A program in Dulles, VA. As a key member of our team, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers responsible for the definition, planning, and execution of methodologies to test, verify, and validate system requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Capture core concepts and instructional needs from large amounts of technical data (ground and space hardware) and communicate technical concepts to non-subject matter experts with varying levels of domain experience.
  2. Be self-directed and envision the end state of the product, taking initiative to drive product development to closure.
  3. Educate leads, customers, and engineers on mission capability, analysis, and CONOPS.
  4. Understand various missions of heterogenous satellites with maturing automation for commanding & telemetry and mission planning.
  5. Lead demonstration and delivery of mission effects during operations and provide long-term sustainment and mission augmentation support over the life of the mission.
  6. Perform system-of-system trades, modeling, simulation, and analysis to assess space mission architecture alternatives for delivering a customer mission effect, data or capability as it fits within a broader campaign.
  7. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other STEM-related degree with 12 years of experience in a related engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace, and/or operations; 10 years with a Master's; 8 years with a PhD.
  • U.S. Citizenship with active or current TS/SCI Clearance at time of application.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with developing and presenting briefing slides to senior leaders and executive-level personnel.
  • Experience in mission design, satellite ground software, distributed modeling & simulation.
  • Prior aerospace-related work experience for a U.S Government Agency or Contractor.

Salary Range: $165,000 - $247,600
