Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Dulles, VA. This role will involve working on ground software systems, providing technical leadership and expertise to support the development and integration of complex space-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system-of-systems engineering, ground segment design, and integration, with experience working collaboratively across organizations and managing multiple priorities.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal engineering teammates, program management, and clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet the needs of our customers. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge programs and new mission areas, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and exceeding customer expectations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a B.S. in STEM or related area and 5 years of experience, or an M.S. in STEM or related area and 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will also have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, as well as experience working on Enterprise Software Products and supporting multiple activities with competing priorities.
Preferred qualifications include ability to task and/or manage a group of diversified individuals with varying backgrounds to achieve mission success, experience with optimization techniques and their application to trajectory optimization and/or multi-objective optimization, prior aerospace-related work experience for a U.S Government Agency or Contractor, and background/fundamental understand of performing statistical analysis.
Benefits
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $107,300 - $160,900, with opportunities for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
