Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Broker, you will collaborate with senior broking professionals to support revenue generation at Lockton Re through the placement of reinsurance agreements. Your role will encompass various aspects of reinsurance broking, including building client and market relationships, conducting industry analysis, mentoring junior staff, engaging in RFP activities, and managing existing renewals. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding team within Lockton Re, providing significant exposure to senior leadership and direct involvement in the sales process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Senior Broker(s) in the creation, design, analysis, and management of reinsurance programs for client partners.
- Prepare submissions, secure quotations, and advocate for our client partners in the reinsurance marketplace.
- Manage and maintain files, negotiate contract conditions, and address outstanding items (e.g., special acceptances).
- Serve as a liaison with clients and reinsurance markets for daily account inquiries.
- Coordinate with claims, accounting, and contract departments to ensure consistent and exemplary service standards.
- Work with Market Security to provide clients with insights on reinsurers' financial health.
- Collaborate with the Compliance department as needed to ensure adherence to company policies.
- Be accountable to Senior Broker(s) for delivering excellent and timely service to clients.
- Monitor and summarize significant industry developments, regulatory updates, economic indicators, and other pertinent news.
- Bachelor's degree required; a degree in a business-related field is preferred.
- 0-5 years of experience in insurance, broking, investment banking, or related finance fields is preferred.
- Strong market research, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including research and providing solutions to both standard and complex issues.
- Understanding of key factors that prospective clients seek from their broker partners.
- Ability to evaluate proposals and presentations from a client or prospect's perspective to create optimal project outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels to foster a positive work environment.
- CFA Charterholder or progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.
