Maintenance Manager Job Summary

This position is responsible for the effective management of all Maintenance functions and activities for the specified location. The ideal candidate will supervise all departments, ensuring the effective use of personnel and resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage department employees to meet assigned workload and work schedule.
  • Ensure staffing of the department and approve and schedule overtime, vacations, and off-time.
  • Work closely with Production on maintenance-related repair and maintenance issues.
  • Plan department activities to coordinate with production schedules and needs.
  • Control expenses and oversee the use of manpower, equipment, and lab facilities.
  • Responsible for internal and external use of manpower and assist in the direction of repair and installation issues to ensure compliance with NWF to OSHA standards.
  • Plan, control, and direct the testing, troubleshooting, and accuracy of completed assignments.
  • Work closely with Purchasing to obtain materials, tools, supplies, and special needs products.
  • Prepare forms, records, and logs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • BS Degree in an Engineering Field Preferred or equivalent Education, Experience, and Training.
  • 6-8 years of Plant Experience with 3-4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Through knowledge of Maintenance jargon, Maintenance Best Practices Knowledge.
  • Proven ability working with contractors for successful use of their needed talents.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and Production needs.
  • People skills to manage a complex department and get the work done on time using experience and competencies.
  • Ability to pass required testing.
Work Environment:

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a variety of environments, requiring standing, bending, lifting, and sitting. The job requires physical stamina to work with a team in solving and maintaining equipment problems and installations as needed. Ability to work 8 – 12 hour shifts, sometimes 7 days a week. Requires eye-hand coordination. Ability to work in a plant with many needs and various skill levels from mechanical and electrical to electronic and pneumatic, fork lifts, and A/C. Candidates with allergies may not be able to work in the plant.
