Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Portfolio Manager to join our Commercial Banking team at BMO Financial Group. As a key member of our National Industries Team, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate decision-making and analysis of credit information to support lending decisions and processes.
  • Maintain and promote a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations.
  • Make credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and Bank Policies & Procedures.
  • Lead and execute business development plans to achieve business goals.
  • Improve service levels, client satisfaction, and loyalty scores by identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
  • Make recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives.
  • Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
  • Develop the business case by identifying needs, analyzing potential options, and assessing expected return on investment.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop consistent and appropriate customer presentations, craft detailed correspondence, presentations, and proposals.
  • Coordinate the management of databases and ensure alignment and integration of data in adherence with data governance standards.
  • Lead change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Provide direction on the creation of comprehensive credit structures to meet the transactional needs of clients.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to generate ideas, identify client solutions, and pursue marketing efforts.
  • Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information.
  • Develop credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans.
  • Assist in negotiations of terms and conditions of all decisions made via phone and email interaction with clients.
  • Prepare summary, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness.
  • Minimize BMO's risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operate at a group/enterprise-wide level and serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and find solutions to complex and non-routine problems.
  • Implement changes in response to shifting trends.
Requirements
  • Typically 7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
  • Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth/Expert.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $222,600.00, with a pay type of Salaried. The total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
