Position Summary — The Purchasing Agent will excel in managing orders, purchase orders (POs), stock inventory, and conducting cycle counts. This role is essential in overseeing inventory management and ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the acknowledgment process, ensuring:
    • Materials are ordered from manufacturers.
    • Required dates align with acknowledged dates.
    • Any pricing discrepancies related to POs are resolved.
  • Conduct replenishment purchasing and create purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with sales personnel to procure non-stock items.
  • Engage with vendors and internal teams to streamline the ordering process.
  • Coordinate with the project management team to ensure timely ordering for system shipping dates, including expediting and purchasing options.
  • Participate in cycle counts and year-end inventory assessments.
  • Proactively manage stock levels and reorder volumes:
    • Utilize tools to maintain and timely order stock quantities.
    • Analyze vendor overspending and suggest new stock items.
  • Recommend enhancements to inventory quality and processes as necessary.
  • Handle the receipt and shipment of all direct invoices.
  • Address any discrepancies in receiving.
  • Assist with relevant reporting and metrics.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage inventory, supply chain, and accounting tasks.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors and colleagues.
  • Utilize software including Opening Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Handle purchasing tasks, including writing and interpreting POs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Preferred 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of pre-employment background and drug screening.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with Opening Suite and familiarity with the Door Hardware Industry is preferred.
