The role of the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is crucial in safeguarding our information systems at MbSolutions Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the cybersecurity team, crafting comprehensive System Security Plans (SSPs), Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Authority to Connect (ATC), and Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation.
- Engage in technical tasks utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, addressing and resolving Information Assurance (IA)-related technical challenges.
- Ensure the development, review, and timely updates of system security artifacts.
- Verify that all RMF mandates are thoroughly addressed, with required artifacts effectively managed within the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
- Conduct periodic audits of each system, monitoring corrective actions until resolution.
- Perform vulnerability and risk assessments of systems, leveraging expertise in relevant information systems security.
- Oversee and monitor the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
- Review cybersecurity artifacts and conduct technical briefings, collaborating with clients to address any identified issues.
- Ensure the implementation and operational effectiveness of identified security controls throughout all lifecycle phases.
- Track deliverables, including artifacts, schedules, and metrics.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience; candidates without a degree must possess an additional 2 years of related experience.
- Possession of a DoD 8570 compliant IAM Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
- Familiarity with the DoD's RMF and SSP processes.
- Active Secret Clearance is mandatory.
