Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our East of I-77 Homecare Team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with patients to evaluate and treat physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial deficits that impact their ability to perform independent living skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills and design an appropriate plan of care.
  • Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities and document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
  • Educate patients and families/caregivers about patient deficits.
  • Direct and supervise the activities of support personnel.
  • Act as a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files regarding patient condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Current State Licensure as Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Valid Ohio Driver's license upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter.
  • Proof of automobile insurance coverage with $100,000/$300,000 coverage, upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a clinical area preferred.
  • Experience working in a homecare environment preferred.
Physical Requirements

The ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.

The ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.

The ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.

Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.

Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.

The ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.

The ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
