Job Summary:

The Independence School District is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in the development, implementation, and coordination of the occupational therapy program. You will work closely with students, teachers, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs
Evaluate student ability and formulate occupational profile through various assessments and observations
Develop occupationally based intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results
Provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance
Consult with school-based team to achieve student outcomes

Requirements:

Master's Degree or more advanced degree in Occupational Therapy from a college or university accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
National Board Certification (NBCOT) in Occupational Therapy or be National Board eligible
Current Occupational Therapy license from the Missouri Board of Occupational Therapy
Two years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a school system or other pediatric practice setting preferred

Working Conditions:

The Occupational Therapist will be employed for a nine-month position. The salary and work year will be established annually by the Board of Education. Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board of Education policy by the immediate supervisor, utilizing the Independence School District School Occupational Therapist Performance Based Evaluation.
