Position Overview:
If you are an energetic and sociable individual with a passion for leading and developing a team to deliver exceptional food service and restaurant operations, this role is tailored for you. As a Pizza Operations Manager, you will collaborate with the Store/Site Manager to guide your team in providing an outstanding customer experience through operational excellence, ensuring adherence to food service and company standards. You will play a vital role in fostering a work environment that encourages engagement and embodies our company values, making Cumberland Farms the preferred choice for our customers' daily needs. Your duties will encompass preparing high-quality food for our core offerings and guiding team members in food safety, production processes, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead by example to demonstrate to all team members and customers what a premier food service program entails.
  2. Collaborate with the Store/Site Manager to cultivate a robust food service program by effectively managing operations. Establish clear and measurable objectives, take ownership of program efficiency, and ensure accountability among team members through training, coaching, and consistent communication.
  3. Work alongside the Store/Site Manager to promptly and fairly address team member performance or behavioral issues to maintain a strong team.
  4. Utilize the Restaurant POS and Back of House systems to create schedules aligned with the company’s operational budget, ensuring effective business support.
  5. Efficiently operate the cash register and POS systems for processing transactions in a friendly manner to minimize customer wait times.
  6. Oversee food safety, inventory levels, costs, preparation, and presentation, striving to meet sales targets for all food and beverage items.
  7. Provide training, feedback, and guidance to team members on food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols. Maintain relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  8. Utilize the Restaurant POS and Back of House systems to execute production schedules, ensuring consistent availability of menu items while minimizing waste.
  9. Achieve operational excellence by leveraging company goals to meet financial objectives (sales/expenses to budget, net profit).
  10. Maintain proper stock levels and rotation of food products to ensure customer satisfaction and selection.
  11. Communicate daily sales and waste data as part of the closing paperwork to effectively report on restaurant performance.
  12. Manage the cleanliness and overall appearance of the food service area, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  13. Oversee quality control, merchandising, and safety programs to ensure successful food service operations.
  14. Responsible for inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and waste control, utilizing the Back of House system for tracking.
  15. Ensure compliance with local health and sanitation standards.
  16. Collaborate with various teams to address product quality, food safety, and operational issues.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Store or Site Manager.

Working Relationships:
Guest Service Associates, Food Service Associates, Store Manager, Operations Support, Foodservice Management Team, Guest Service Leads, Site Manager, District Manager, Region Manager, Operations VP, and various vendors.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience: 1 year in a lead capacity within a food service or restaurant environment.

Preferred Experience: 1-3 years in food service.

Licenses/Certifications: Serv Safe Certification is a plus but not required.

Soft Skills:
  • Ability to learn and execute processes related to POS transactions and scheduling.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers and team members.
  • High energy and adaptability.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to assist others.

Reporting Structure: This position operates within a proprietary food service setting, reporting to the Store or Site Manager.
Scheduling: This is a full-time hourly position, primarily during the day, with potential for varied hours based on business needs.
Travel: Minimal travel (5%) for meetings.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures. The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.
