Job Overview:
Under general supervision, this role involves performing standard clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the office. The position reports directly to the School Principal.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Facilitates school-wide and individual student assessments.
- Manages the processing of transcripts and coordinates communications with colleges and graduate schools.
- Oversees assignments and activities for students receiving homebound education.
- Organizes programs and documentation aimed at enhancing student engagement.
- Handles requests and processes files for law enforcement or state programs as needed.
- Assists with the registration of new students.
- Performs general clerical tasks, including data entry, file management, correspondence preparation, and mail processing.
- Acts as a receptionist, managing phone calls, greeting visitors, and relaying messages.
- Supports supervisors and staff with special projects as assigned.
- Prepares and submits various records and reports, including forms, logs, and correspondence.
- Maintains bulletin boards and prepares school newsletters as required.
- Safeguards student records and other important documents.
- Operates various office equipment, including computers, printers, and fax machines.
- Interacts with a diverse range of individuals, including staff, students, parents, and the community.
Performs related duties as necessary.
Education and Training Requirements:
2-year associate degree or higher, or 60 semester hours of college coursework, along with Silver Level WorkKeys or WIN Readiness Assessment at Silver level.
Physical and Cognitive Abilities:
Must be capable of operating various office machines and equipment. The role may require lifting up to ten pounds and involves primarily sedentary work with occasional walking or standing.
Communication Skills:
Requires effective verbal and written communication abilities, including the capacity to convey information clearly and follow instructions.
