POSITION SUMMARY

The Firearms Sales Consultant is tasked with welcoming customers, facilitating sales, and ensuring follow-up to finalize transactions. A thorough understanding of the 4473 form and related regulations is essential. With up-to-date product knowledge and market insights, the consultant educates clients across all experience levels. The role encompasses selling memberships, products, and range services, with a requirement for evening and weekend availability.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Achieve Results

  1. Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously.
  2. Meet or surpass established sales targets.
  3. Comply with all federal and state laws during transactions.
  4. Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  5. Manage inventory effectively while prioritizing loss prevention.

Operational Excellence

  1. Adhere to all billing and point-of-sale protocols.
  2. Ensure cleanliness and safety on the sales floor and range.
  3. Address safety concerns promptly.
  4. Possess a comprehensive understanding of firearms and related services.
  5. Facilitate client access to the range within set guidelines.

Relationships

  1. Foster collaborative relationships within the organization.
  2. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Thorough knowledge of ATF regulations regarding firearms sales and transfers.
  • Extensive knowledge of firearms.
  • Able to educate individuals with varying levels of firearms experience.
  • Function as a Range Safety Officer when required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods on the sales floor.

Requirements

EDUCATION

High school diploma preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in firearms retail, sales, or related fields.
