Maintenance Technician - Electro-Mechanical Specialist


Job Description:


We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with strong electro-mechanical proficiency to fill a critical role in our organization. As an electro-mechanical maintenance professional, you will work with specialized equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), to control machinery on factory assembly lines.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine maintenance work to ensure equipment is functioning correctly
  • Responding to equipment faults and implementing effective solutions
  • Writing maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and material costs
  • Diagnosing breakdown problems and fitting new parts to ensure equipment is functioning correctly
  • Liaising with Production and Procurement departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Assisting with specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings, or components
  • Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment while applying 5S practices


You will also be responsible for monitoring, minimizing, and controlling maintenance downtime and material costs, as well as effectively handling emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs.


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years' experience with machining and metal fabrication
  • A strong electro-mechanical background
  • The ability to suggest and implement approved design changes to increase efficiency, throughput, and uptime
  • The capacity to understand a range of supervising functions and procedures
  • Excellent leadership, training, and motivating skills
  • Strong teamworking skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence to respond positively when under pressure
  • Punctuality and reliability
