Position Overview:
The Systems Administration Specialist will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of mid-range operating systems. This role requires the application of specific functional, operational, and general industry knowledge to develop or contribute to solutions for a variety of challenges of moderate scope and complexity. The individual will work independently with some guidance and will also oversee the activities of junior team members.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in assisting engineers with administration and general IT support on specialized development hardware, including determining the necessary operating system configurations and tools to resolve issues.
- Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems, particularly Windows 10.
- Capability to perform system administration tasks for systems in development during pilot phases.
- Ability to act as the primary contact and manage communication and coordination between engineers utilizing specialized machines and leadership.
- Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
- Possession of an Associate's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with server environments in a Department of Defense (DoD) context.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu variants.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps enabling tools or technologies, such as container technologies.
- Experience with general IT support tools like Jira or GitLab.
- Proficiency with virtualization tools such as VMware and KVM.
- Ability to deploy, configure, and support operating systems on both desktops and laptops.
Security Clearance:
Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary at Booz Allen is influenced by various factors, including location, education, skills, competencies, experience, and specific contract requirements. The anticipated compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 annually. This range represents the typical salary for this role and is part of Booz Allen's total compensation package.
