Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at the United States Army Futures Command. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing and executing customer-funded projects with the highest level of professionalism and perform-to-promise.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute preliminary design studies, designs, plans, specifications, shop drawings, and engineering estimates for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, fire suppression, and other related systems.
- Prepare and review acquisition documents, priorities, schedules, cost estimates, budgets, milestones, and other program matters bearing on project/program assignments.
- Provide technical direction to contractors on the application and integration of improved designs into the system.
- Participate in and monitor testing and modeling/simulation activities, and prepare and review test plans, observe tests, and analyze test results to determine the adequacy of system and subsystem performance.
- Maintain close working relationships with engineering and management personnel within the government and at other commercial facilities to provide advice and assistance, resolve problems, exchange information, etc.
To qualify for this position, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
- You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
- Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering is required. The program must be accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Alternatively, you may have a degree in a related field (e.g., physics, chemistry, mathematics) with at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
Transcripts are required, even if you are a current federal employee. Foreign education must be evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
This is a(n) Engineering & Technical Management Career Field (16) position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
