Moses Lake Community Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Patient Financial Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Patient Financial Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of clinical and hospital charges.
Key Responsibilities- Coding and Posting: Review, code, and post clinical and hospital charges in a timely and accurate manner.
- Follow-up Support: Provide follow-up support to the department to ensure claims and patient accounts are processed and managed effectively.
- Account Management: Respond effectively to patients with account and statement questions via phone or in-person.
- Documentation: Document correspondence or account actions in the appropriate location of our electronic medical record system.
- Training and Development: Attend group provider training sessions and assist in training providers as needed.
- Medical Coding Knowledge: Possess specific knowledge and training in medical coding, typically acquired through completion of a certificate or license program in Medical Coding.
- Credentialing: Be credentialed with a certified physician coder credentialing organization, such as the American Health Information Management Associates (AHIMA) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate the ability to manage own duties and responsibilities on a fixed schedule without the need for direction or assistance in prioritization.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess the ability to effectively communicate and interact with colleagues and patients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Technical Skills: Be fully functional in the use of our electronic medical record system and possess the ability to create, send, and manage email in Outlook.
