Job Title: Environmental Cleaning Services

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Cleaning Services professional to join our team at Samaritan Healthcare.

Job Summary:

The Environmental Cleaning Services professional will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and pleasant environment essential for quality care of patients, visitors, and staff. This includes cleaning patient rooms, public areas, and staff restrooms, as well as handling waste disposal and linen services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Clean patient rooms, including ceilings, walls, windows, and shades, and wipe down all surfaces, dust, mop, and wet mop.
  2. Clean all areas of the hospital, professional center, and pioneer medical center, including picking up garbage, washing wastebaskets, and relining with clean plastic liners.
  3. Clean lighting fixtures, tops of doors, vents, and other high areas, and remove and replace cubicle curtains and shower curtains.
  4. Clean patient, public, and staff restrooms, and clean ice machines, defrost and clean refrigerators, and wash sinks, plumbing fixtures, drinking fountains, stainless steel mirrors, furniture, equipment, and casters.
  5. Clean carpet stains, and clean occupied and terminated isolation rooms.
  6. Deliver clean linen and pick up soiled linen.
  7. Be available by page, phone, or radio while on duty, with no reports of non-response.
  8. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.
  9. Ensure no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies, including security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting, and body mechanics.
  10. Ensure self-compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements.
  11. Ensure the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization's values.
  12. Conduct self in a professional manner and ensure personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
  13. Ensure that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.
Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Possession of a valid motor vehicle license is required.
  3. Ability to read and write and follow oral and written instructions. Must be alert to hazards.
  4. Knowledge of common cleaning supplies and equipment; mops, dry and wet vacuums.
  5. Ability to use ladders.
  6. Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
