Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to provide support for a critical information technology initiative. This role involves working with complex systems at a high level, requiring a deep understanding of both software and hardware components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tier three systems support in alignment with established operational directives.
  • Utilize advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues.
  • Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to facilitate effective communication.
  • Participate in design reviews, system tests, and collaborative working groups to enhance system performance.
  • Contribute to the development of assessments and actionable recommendations based on comprehensive reviews.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle, including documentation and quality assurance processes.

Required Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Possession of a DoD TS clearance or higher.
  • Over 10 years of experience in systems and network administration.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS for at least 3 years.
  • Experience managing virtual environments and policy creation using VMware technologies.
  • Familiarity with Layer 2 and 3 network architecture and security policies.
  • Understanding of bi-directional network transfer systems.
  • DoD IAT Level II Compliant Certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Ability to utilize security tools such as ACAS and Splunk.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a plus.

Compensation Range

The typical salary range for this position is between $104,000 and $166,000, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
