Job Overview

The Information System Security Manager is a full-time position responsible for corporate classified and unclassified information systems and manages Radix Metasystems' cybersecurity program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the efforts to implement security processes and procedures to acquire and maintain necessary security accreditations for the company.
  • Manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, including bringing new IT assets through the process and maintaining system accreditation with documentation and artifact maintenance in the Service Now portal.
  • Expertise in maintaining the accreditation of an ICD 503-compliant system, to include mitigating POA&Ms, vulnerability (EVSS) testing, Cybersecurity Risk Management, and Information Assurance requirements.
  • Participate in Assessments and Accreditation activities and document their results, prepare the Body of Evidence (BoE), and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) as required to maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO).
  • Conduct system audits and implement corrective actions until all actions are closed.
  • Oversee and maintain secure operating system vulnerability monitoring and remediation to meet government classified Cyber Information Assurance compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for continuous professional discourse with internal and external customers (i.e. ISSEs, DAOs, SCAs, Program Managers, etc.).
  • Gather and analyze information security requirements from various sources and use the requirements to define and update company-wide information cybersecurity policy, processes, and standards (e.g., System Security Plan). Collaborate within the government teams to ensure policies remain current and applicable.
  • Monitor, test and enforce the effectiveness of technical security controls against defined security policies and processes, including performing periodic audits or spot checks to ensure accounts and entitlements are up-to-date and system configurations are in compliance with defined security standards.
  • Manage the security logging functionality at all levels. Configure and tune the SIEM and other monitoring tools to ensure alert levels are appropriate and reported alerts are properly handled. Stay current with industry vulnerability alerts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps teams to ensure defined security control methodologies including secure coding, cloud services configuration, and server configuration standards meet industry best practices and customer standards. Ensure ongoing compliance with the defined standards, and provide guidance as needed on suggested remediation to application and infrastructure vulnerability scans.
  • Define scope of periodic external penetration tests, engage with penetration vendors, and coordinate with Engineering for execution of tests. Track and monitor remediation of any reported findings.
  • Manage Security Incident response process, including prompt response and triage of incidents, coordination with other teams on response and evidence collection, and overseeing post-incident retrospective.
  • Take a leading role in the cross-functional response to customer and third-party audits of the company's security practices. Enforce and drive remediation of identified deviations or control gaps generated by internal audit, or customer or third-party audits.
  • Work collaboratively with the company leadership and the company Security Director to:
    • Manage information security risk acceptance and exception processes to ensure that security risks are documented in the company's risk register.
    • Advise on information security controls based on the identified security requirements and defined security policies and standards, and drive implementation of the controls.
    • Collect metrics to measure the effectiveness of the security controls and use metrics to provide periodic reporting to Senior Management on the status of the Information Security Program.
    • Perform internal and assist with supplier security assessments.
  • Define and manage security requirements and standards for enterprise applications, including access and entitlements, encryption, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention. Work closely with IT to ensure compliance with defined controls.
  • Administers IT operations.
  • Implements IT strategies and infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree) with minimum of five or more years of hands-on security experience in systems accredited to ICD 503.
  • CISSP, CISM or comparable security certification.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance (BI within 7 years).
  • Successful polygraph is required, current/existing polygraph is desired.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Understanding of the US Government's Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Working knowledge of Service Now (SNOW), EVSS, UAM, HBSS, CONMON, and EITA.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills that enable you to identify, analyze, and resolve problems in a timely manner, working both alone as well as in group problem solving situations.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to explain technical and security concepts to both technical and non-technical resources.
  • Experience conducting and documenting self-inspections, security control assessments, log management systems, auditing, configuration management and/or patching.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests between security projects and greater business or customer needs.
  • Willing to learn new tools, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding and awareness of current developments in the prevailing global cybersecurity environment.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Risk Management practices (NIST SP).
  • Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) data security standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SaaS security and AWS.
  • Knowledge of the Zero Trust security framework.
  • Solid working understanding of TCP/IP, operating systems, and common security vulnerabilities and attack techniques.
  • Bonus points for experience working in a security operation center (SOC) and configuring SIEM and logging systems.
  • Experience with various risk and control frameworks such as CMMC, NIST, NIST 800-53.
  • Experience presenting to executive level management.
  • Excellent project and program management skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
