Job Title: Armed School Security Guard

Precision Security Team is a veteran-owned and operated company providing security services in the northern Colorado area. We are seeking a qualified professional to fill the role of Armed School Security Guard in Aurora, CO.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as an Armed School Security Guard. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors at the assigned school site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular patrols of the school campus to maintain a visible security presence and deter potential threats.
  • Expertly de-escalate high-stress situations using effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Maintain constant situational awareness to quickly identify any unusual activities or potential risks.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors by fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere within the school community.
  • Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies, following established protocols to manage the situation effectively.
  • Document and report all incidents, disturbances, or safety concerns to the relevant authorities or school administration.
Requirements:
  • 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pass required background check
  • Pass required physical and psychiatric screen
  • Eligible to legally use a firearm
  • Previous firearm experience
  • Able to work the posted hours without modification
  • Veterans and prior LEOs are encouraged to apply
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to train and become certified to use an approved firearm
  • Ability to use/maintain/operate/manipulate firearm, handcuffs, and other issued gear
  • Able to stand for up to eight hours at a time
  • Able to pass company basic hand-to-hand course
  • Able to walk up and down stairs frequently throughout your shift
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted
  • Able to wear issued gear belt for the entire duration of your assigned shift
Compensation and Benefits:

This is a W2 position with a pay range of $31.00 hourly, based on experience. Employees who work 30 or more hours a week are eligible for health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Assessment and Interview Process:

Our hiring process begins with a thorough review of resumes to identify candidates who align well with our company's needs. If your resume stands out, you will receive a call for an initial phone screen. Following a successful phone screen, we will invite you to an in-person interview with the hiring manager and other relevant management team members. Should you advance past this stage, a job offer will be extended to you no less than 24 hours later.

Assessments will be scored based on answering the question, and proper use of grammar and written communication. Please do not write 'see resume' or 'can be discussed during the interview' as your answer. We are looking for answers with specific examples and/or thorough, multiple sentence answers to the questions.

During the interview, we ask that you use the S.T.A.R. technique. The STAR technique is a structured method used to answer behavioral interview questions by clearly outlining a Situation, Task, Action, and Result. This approach helps candidates provide comprehensive and well-organized responses that showcase their skills and experiences effectively, and helps candidates provide answers that are coherent, concise, and impactful, making it easier for interviewers to assess their competencies and fit for the role.
