Job Title: Program Support Specialist- Early Learning Center

Join our team as a Program Support Specialist at the Early Learning Center for Research & Practice at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This 100% full-time, 12-month position is an excellent opportunity to support classrooms and the food program in the absence of a regular staff member.

About the Role:

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the mission of the Early Learning Center (ELC) by supporting classrooms and the food program. This role requires excellent flexibility and reliability, as well as the ability to work effectively with other teachers and students in the classroom.

Responsibilities:
  • Support classrooms in the absence of a regular staff member, implementing the daily schedule and responding to children's needs.
  • Support the food program in the absence of a regular staff member, following guidelines for the safe preparation and distribution of food.
  • Support the program with cleaning, organizing, restocking, and classroom-based assistance duties as requested by program administrators.
  • Support other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma.
  • Experience caring for young children.
  • Skills in communication, organization, and care of the physical environment, routine care tasks of young children, guidance techniques with young children, interpersonal skills, management, and professionalism.
