Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Caregiver to join our team at Sevita. As a Caregiver, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will provide support and assistance with daily living activities, help individuals develop life skills, and promote their independence and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Help individuals develop life skills, such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition, to promote their independence and well-being.
  • Assist individuals with behavioral challenges and other complex needs, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to promote a safe and supportive environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and their goals are achieved.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, and to stay up-to-date with best practices in the field.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and other stakeholders.
