Receptionist Job Description

  • Greet and welcome clients and visitors, offering assistance as needed.
  • Notify staff members of appointments and escort guests to the appropriate room.
  • Answer routine questions about services, products, and directions.
  • Notify management of customer service and security issues.
  • Receive deceased belongings from family members and follow chain of custody procedures.
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming calls to staff members.
  • Maintain a comfortable environment for clients, providing beverages and amenities as needed.
  • Maintain the guest-waiting area, disposing of trash and straightening furniture.
  • Receive incoming mail and packages.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper files and records.
  • Perform light typing, proofreading, data entry, or printing tasks.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of general office, receptionist, or administrative support experience preferred.
  • Proficient in operating telephones, fax, and copier.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Clear and professional speaking voice and tone.
  • Professional interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Ability to work a schedule including Saturday and Sunday and beyond standard business hours.
