Job Summary
Marathon TS is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Essential Functions- Assist health care providers and registered nurses with examinations, treatments, and routine procedures.
- Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, and vital signs, and administer TB skin tests.
- Conduct lab tests and ensure results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
- Ensure patients receive proper care for injuries or conditions.
- Review patient charts, record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient conditions.
- Schedule and coordinate paperwork for patient transfers to medical facilities or outside healthcare providers.
- Administer medications, implement healthcare practitioners' orders, and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
- Practice safety, environmental, and infection control methods.
- Current state license as a Practical or Vocational Nurse.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI).
- Other relevant professional experiences or educational backgrounds will be considered.
Work is typically performed in a clinical setting. Considerable physical activity is required, and work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions.
