Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Beebe Healthcare. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures using the most appropriate technique and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
  • Adhere to department policies and protocols to ensure all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent.
  • Explain procedures to patients and answer questions to ease anxiety and ensure patient cooperation.
  • Recognize clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Correctly identify patients and their files to ensure a high degree of accuracy.
  • Track patients according to department procedures and identify errors to take immediate action for corrections.
  • Maintain exposure reading within the As Low As Reasonably Achievable limits and demonstrate the effective use of radiation protection procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety in the department by using side rails, braking mechanisms, and patient monitoring.
  • Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean environment and ensure rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies.
  • Operate imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Participate in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings.
Requirements
  • Recent hospital experience as a Radiologist Technologist is preferred.
  • Capability to perform on-call, shift, holiday, and weekends when required.
  • Basic computer skills.
Competencies
  • Clear Communication Skills (both written and verbal).
  • Able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
  • Able to withstand crisis situations.
  • Has skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records.
Credentials
  • DE RADIATION - Delaware State Radiation license.
  • DE LICENSED - Licensed in the state of DE.
  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
Education
  • Associates Degree in a related field.
