KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
  • Foster a harmonious atmosphere that promotes respect and community among all household members.
  • Maintain open and positive communication with families and guardians.
  • Keep accurate records, including time sheets, documentation, and completion of staff checklists.
  • Implement and manage daily routines, including meal planning, grocery shopping, health and wellness activities, and household scheduling.
  • Learn and apply the medication management system, including documentation and distribution.
  • Transport residents to various programs and activities as required.
  • Maintain professional interactions with residents, families, day programs, and staff.
  • Assist residents in developing life skills, including personal wellness, laundry, hygiene, cooking, and cleaning.
  • Conduct safety drills and implement other safety protocols for the residence.
  • Perform additional tasks related to the care and safety of WILO NJ residents as directed by supervisors.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The work hours for this role are flexible, structured as follows:

7 AM to 9 AM: Required for morning support.

3:30 PM to 10 PM: Required for evening support.

Overnight (sleep) from 10 PM to 7 AM, with the expectation to reside on-site during these hours, except on designated days off.

Two days per week will be designated as non-obligated days off, including one weekend day and one weekday.

Qualifications:

A minimum of one year of experience working with adults with special needs is required.

A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (fewer than 5 points) is necessary, along with a driving abstract.

Personal transportation is required; mileage reimbursement will be provided for transporting residents.

Successful candidates will demonstrate kindness, compassion, responsibility, organization, and teamwork. A positive attitude and respect for others are essential for success at WILO NJ.

Background checks, drug testing, and mandatory training in CPR and other relevant areas are required.

Job Type: Full-time
