Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Residential Counselor to join our team at Wright Independent Life Options (WILO NJ). As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellness of our residents, while also providing a supportive and inclusive environment for them to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure resident safety and wellness at all times
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, parents/guardians, and other staff members
  • Implement and manage systems and routines, such as menu planning, food shopping, health/wellness, weight management, and household calendars
  • Transport residents to and from programs and activities as needed
  • Cultivate and maintain professional communications and interactions with all parties
  • Facilitate residents during life skills training, such as personal wellness, laundry skills, personal hygiene, cooking, cleaning, and other skills training
  • Conduct fire drills and other safety measures for the home

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year experience working with adults with special needs
  • Current driving license and clean driving record required
  • Having your own means of transportation
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and overnights
