Job OverviewPosition Summary:
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to take on the role of a Daycare Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will be instrumental in addressing the educational and developmental requirements of children within our daycare setting. This role provides a chance to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing and engaging learning atmosphere for young learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Lead Educator: Collaborate with the lead educator to design and execute age-appropriate curricula and activities that reflect the daycare's educational values.
  • Child Supervision: Ensure the safety and welfare of children at all times. Engage with children during play, meals, and various activities.
  • Classroom Support: Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment by supporting behavior management and encouraging cooperation among children.
  • Personalized Attention: Offer individualized support to children needing extra assistance or those with special requirements, ensuring their successful integration into the daycare.
  • Parent Communication: Keep open lines of communication with parents, providing updates on children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
  • Health and Safety Standards: Adhere to and enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and secure environment for all children.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in preparing and organizing educational materials, supplies, and resources for daily activities.
  • Ongoing Development: Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework in early childhood education is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a daycare or educational environment with young children.
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Additional relevant certifications in early childhood education would be beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: In-person
