Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to aid in the advancement and assessment of non-viral gene therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct molecular characterization of biomolecules, including DNA-conjugated modalities such as peptides, antibodies, proteins, and small molecules.
  • Evaluate various molecules and modalities for biochemical appropriateness, potential effectiveness, and safety through cell-based assays and diverse analytical techniques.
  • Develop and implement cell and molecular assays to evaluate cell fate, potency, and the longevity of delivery scaffolds and genetic payloads.
  • Design and validate cell-based protocols for transition to the Development team.
  • Ensure meticulous data acquisition and analysis utilizing an electronic laboratory notebook.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences with 3-5 years of relevant research and development experience, or a Master's degree with 1-3 years of experience.
  • Proficient in mammalian cell culture and knowledgeable in cell-based assays.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Experienced in DNA and RNA extraction techniques and their subsequent applications.
  • Hands-on familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and protocols.
  • Able to comprehend complex scientific literature and extract pertinent information for experimental application.
  • General understanding of cell-based assays and their outcomes.
  • Knowledgeable in peptide and protein structure and functionality.
  • Familiarity with basic analytical characterization techniques.

This role is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
