Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care and work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and documenting patient information.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient vital signs, assess patient conditions, and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition to home or other care settings.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities to ensure efficient patient care.
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or eligibility for licensure by reciprocal agreement.
- 1 year of direct patient care experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials. The Registered Nurse must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
