Job Summary and Qualifications

We are in search of a dedicated and knowledgeable RN to provide exceptional care to our oncology patients. As an Oncology Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for understanding and applying the principles of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgical interventions. Our Oncology Care Unit features 25 beds and is equipped for remote telemetry.

  • Proficiency in time management and effective communication is essential.
  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care for various surgical oncology procedures.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patients' conditions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Work alongside oncology-certified nurses and cancer specialists to tailor care plans to individual patient needs.
  • Support patients and families during hospice and end-of-life care.
  • Deliver personalized education to patients, families, and caregivers throughout their care journey.

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization.
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification preferred (to be obtained within one year of employment).
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred.
