Key Responsibilities- Quality Practices and Processes: Determine and improve current quality practices, techniques, and processes for our supplier community.
- Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate, improve, and implement supplier quality manuals and associated SOPs, work instructions, and other quality documentation.
- Quality Reporting and Management: Maintain, report, and manage supplier quality report cards.
- Supplier Communication and Training: Visit, communicate, and teach current requirements and practices to our supplier community.
- Quality Surveys and Audits: Perform supplier quality surveys and audits, and source inspections of components.
- Investigations and Problem-Solving: Investigate manufacturing hardware and engineering parts discrepancies, assist with investigative procedures on customer complaints, and advise quality management on technical matters.
- Process Improvement: Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, production control, quality assurance, and other business entities for process improvement in a professional manner.
- Compliance and Administration: Comply with company policies and practices, administer work rules and regulations.
- Education: College graduate with a degree in engineering or equivalent actual experience, with additional training in areas such as quality assurance, quality control, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and shop inspection practices.
- Experience: 4-8 years' experience in various engineering phases, production, and/or manufacturing engineering, quality control, and reliability engineering.
- Skills: PC computer and MS Office applications, inspection techniques, processes, and equipment knowledge, and practical capability.
- Professional Development: Through contact with professional organizations, educational institutions, and perusal of text books, periodicals, and technical papers, keep abreast of new developments on quality control and related procedures.
This is a full-time position that requires working closely with supply chain, product and manufacturing engineering, manufacturing, and inspection personnel on procedural problems involving design, methods, tooling, costs, and other areas involved in the control of product quality. The successful candidate will also be required to escort/accompany visitors while in the building and to off-site test labs to ensure conformity with audit procedures and specifications.
