Position Summary
The Corporate Partnerships Manager plays a pivotal role in expanding and nurturing a network of corporate supporters, with a primary aim of enhancing A Wider Circle's funding base. This position involves strategizing and soliciting corporate contributions and sponsorships through a comprehensive outreach approach, which encompasses identifying potential partners, fostering relationships, soliciting support, and ensuring ongoing engagement. The role reports directly to the Development Director.
Key Responsibilities
The Corporate Partnerships Manager will be tasked with the following duties:
- Act as an essential member of the Development Team, contributing to institutional giving goals by actively managing a portfolio of high-value corporate donors and prospects.
- Collaborate with the Development Director to set clear guidelines and metrics for annual fundraising objectives.
- Oversee the identification, research, and management of a pipeline of potential corporate sponsors and donors.
- Design and implement stewardship strategies for major corporate sponsors.
- In partnership with the Development Director, create and oversee A Wider Circle's corporate partnership program, defining giving levels and associated benefits.
- Work alongside communications personnel to ensure that all external communication materials align with organizational branding standards.
- Engage potential corporate donors with A Wider Circle's mission and vision, remaining informed about programmatic needs and priorities.
- Collaborate closely with the Development Director and the Director of Grants and Contracts to develop proposals, materials, and donor-centric correspondence to enhance engagement with corporate sponsors.
- Assist the Volunteer Team in involving corporate volunteers, including participating in volunteer activities and representing A Wider Circle at outreach events.
- Coordinate corporate aspects of the annual Neighbor to Neighbor Night, including soliciting event sponsorships and managing related logistics.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the donor database.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate for the Corporate Partnerships Manager position will possess:
- A proven track record of effectively engaging and managing corporate partners to increase contributions.
- A community-focused approach to fundraising, with the ability to connect corporate interests to A Wider Circle's priorities while building lasting relationships.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with both external and internal stakeholders.
- The capability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while also demonstrating self-motivation to work independently.
- A strong passion for the mission of A Wider Circle and a commitment to advancing organizational priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in development or a related field, with a focus on corporate relations preferred.
- Familiarity with philanthropic communities and interests in the greater Washington, DC area is advantageous.
- Expertise in corporate funding models and approaches throughout the gift cycle.
- Experience working with volunteers in a professional and collaborative manner.
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations and address inquiries effectively.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools and/or a willingness to learn new technology systems.
- Knowledge of CRM systems is a plus.
Work Environment
This position is office-based.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and engaging in phone conversations are expected.
