Responsibilities

  • Resident Rights and Dignity: Promote and protect residents' rights and treat residents with dignity and respect.
  • Continuing Education: Attend in-service and education programs and obtain continuing education required by state regulations.
  • Stress Management: Demonstrate the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of residents' information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Professional Appearance: Maintain professional appearance by adherence to community dress code.
  • Documentation: Documentation is completed in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Reporting Changes: All changes in a resident's condition are reported as soon as possible to the supervisor.
  • Work Schedules: Work schedules and assigned tasks are completed in accordance to the established policies and procedures of the community.
  • Equipment Safety: Operate equipment in a safe manner and only use equipment that previous training of use has occurred.
  • Infection Control: Infection Control precautions and practices are utilized with all activities.
  • Emergency Procedures: Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures. Reports all safety violations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Training: Successful completion of a State Approved Medication Aide course.
  • Certification: Personal Care Assistant or Certified Nursing Certification required.
  • Communication: Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for seniors without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.
