Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented School Bus Monitor to join our team at STA of New York, Inc. As a School Bus Monitor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students while they are on board our buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Safety and Supervision: Monitor all passengers to ensure their safety is always maintained on the bus, and assist students in entering and exiting the vehicle.
  • Safety Checks and Inspections: Perform regular safety checks on the bus to ensure the safety of all students, and identify any potential hazards or issues.
  • Emergency Procedures: Know the emergency evacuation procedures and be prepared to conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including the use of emergency doors.
  • Communication and Liaison: Communicate behavior problems and conditions of various bus stops with the driver, and liaise with parents on an as-needed basis.
  • Bus Maintenance and Cleanliness: Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of assigned buses, and ensure that they are in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children or students, and a complete comprehensive training program.
  • Background Checks: Pre-employment background checks are required.
