Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Cardiac Sonographer to perform transthoracic echocardiograms for patients of all ages, including fetuses, premature neonates, newborns, adolescents, and adults with congenital heart disease.
Responsibilities:- Assist physicians in performing examinations using standard department protocols and sterile techniques.
- Recognize clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Communicate effectively with ordering and interpreting physicians to ensure appropriate use of echocardiography services.
- Maintain active credential status by complying with continual education requirements.
- Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
- Troubleshoot equipment effectively and report equipment issues to biomedical engineering or vendors.
- Perform routine maintenance of echo vascular equipment to ensure consistency of quality images.
- Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
- Location: Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital
- Experience: One year of experience after acquiring registry in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical sonography or 5 years specialized training in a hospital/healthcare setting
- Certification(s): ARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification, or CCI Registered with RCS Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS; Certification for Vascular. BLS (AHA)
