School Based Mental Health Practitioner

A local health center is seeking a skilled School Based Mental Health Practitioner to provide mental health and substance abuse services to students and families in a school setting. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and families while enjoying a school schedule with summers off.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct mental health and substance abuse services, including intake assessment, individual, family, and group counseling, crisis intervention, and prevention.
- Complete treatment plans, treatment plan updates, psychotherapy notes, and other documentation as needed.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, clinical meetings, IEP meetings, and other meetings as required.
- Participate in the collection of mental health and substance abuse information and student outcome data to monitor the effectiveness of services provided.
- Determine available family and community resources for treatment and placement, and make appropriate arrangements.
- Provide crisis intervention and assessment/evaluation, including after-hours and weekend services.
- Develop and implement re-integration plans for students returning to school from hospitalizations or facility stays.
- Foster effective communication with students, parents, and staff members.
- Provide home interventions/visits as clinically necessary and solicit parent/guardian involvement in program planning and treatment services.
- Assist families in locating and using community resources, agencies, and organizations to coordinate services and monitor progress toward treatment goals.
- May be required to work an altered schedule and provide clinical services in evenings and weekends.
- Travel is required, and a valid driver's license and car insurance are necessary.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Nebraska license of LMHP, LCSW, LIMHP, or LICSW.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Willing to be a team member with all staff.
