Job Description

At the Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in our Individual Residential Alternatives (IRAs) and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care and assistance to individuals, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and implement person-centered plans that cater to individual preferences, needs, and interests.
  • Teach and assist individuals with personal care, nutrition, domestic skills, money management, and maintenance of adaptive and technological devices.
  • Administer medication and ensure adherence to healthcare treatment orders.
  • Transport individuals safely and efficiently, utilizing Agency vehicles or personal vehicles when necessary.
  • Maintain open communication with families and significant others, providing regular updates on individual progress.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Agency orientation and training program.
  • NYS Driver's License with two years of driving experience required.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, lift and support individuals with and without help, and shovel snow.
