Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and proficient Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide essential therapy services within an educational setting. The successful candidate will focus on enhancing students' daily living skills, fine motor capabilities, and their overall engagement in both academic and social contexts.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and daily living tasks to create tailored therapy plans.
  • Therapeutic Services: Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to students with diverse needs, including sensory integration and adaptive skills training.
  • Collaboration: Partner with educators, school personnel, and families to incorporate therapy objectives into students' educational frameworks, fostering their active involvement in school activities.
  • Program Design: Develop and execute individualized therapy programs that align with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support their academic and social growth.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure meticulous documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and evaluations, preparing reports in accordance with educational and state standards.
  • Consultative Support: Offer training and advice to school staff and families on strategies to assist students with occupational needs, promoting an inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow all relevant federal and state regulations, along with school policies regarding occupational therapy services.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: A valid state license in Occupational Therapy is mandatory.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a school-based occupational therapy role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities are required, along with a collaborative approach to working with students, families, and educational staff.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of special education laws and best practices in school-based occupational therapy is preferred.
