Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate centerless grinding machines to grind external outer diameter of metal workpieces to precise specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and tooling instructions to ensure accurate processing.
  • Mount grinding wheels and regulating wheels on spindles, dress wheels to specifications, and adjust machine settings as needed.
  • Verify dimensions of ground workpieces using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and preset gauges.
  • Perform first article checks and maintain accurate records of production.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing for extended periods. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in centerless grinding or related metal fabrication field.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and tooling instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
