Overview:
The Patient Service Representative plays a crucial role in the front office operations of a medical practice, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and supporting the overall mission of Tenet Florida Physician Services, L.L.C.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and promote the mission, vision, and values of Tenet Florida Physician Services.
- Comply with the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and maintain confidentiality in accordance with Privacy Standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of compliance responsibilities and adhere to applicable laws and corporate policies.
- Welcome patients as they arrive at the practice, providing a friendly and professional atmosphere.
- Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, confirm existing appointments, and handle rescheduling requests.
- Facilitate patient check-in processes, accurately collecting demographic information and verifying insurance details.
- Assist patients during check-out, including processing referrals and scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Collect co-payments and accurately post charges to patient accounts.
- Perform charge entry and manage patient balance inquiries.
- Provide patients with information regarding office policies and procedures, enhancing their understanding of the practice.
- Guide patients through the enrollment process for the patient portal.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support the practice.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
Certification: None required.
Additional Information: This position is classified as non-clinical/administrative and is a full-time role with day shifts.
