Position Overview:

The Post Oak Hotel is in search of a dedicated Restaurant Server Assistant to enhance our exceptional service team. As the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas, we pride ourselves on delivering unparalleled guest experiences through our committed and professional staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare dining tables in accordance with event requirements and service protocols. Address inquiries regarding menu options.
  • Relay specific meal needs, allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests to the culinary team.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of our performance standards and consistently apply them throughout the guest's visit.
  • Assist in clearing trays and cleaning tables to uphold a pristine dining environment. Ensure the cleanliness of work areas, including dishware and utensils, throughout the service period.
  • Complete end-of-shift tasks, such as restocking supplies and performing necessary cleaning duties.
  • Adhere to all organizational and safety protocols; report maintenance issues, safety concerns, incidents, or injuries; participate in safety training and certifications.
  • Work collaboratively with servers, hosts, and kitchen personnel to facilitate seamless service.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations, including those related to tip reporting and minimum wage standards.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant experience in hospitality or a related field.
  • Have 1-3 years of experience in a restaurant setting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely and professionally carry food and beverage trays.
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment, particularly in luxury or Forbes-rated establishments, is preferred.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical requirements include:
    • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
    • Assistance with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects exceeding 50 pounds.
    • Capability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout an entire shift.
